In the year Jim as well as Sasha Allen made it onto The Voice Live Shows, they made history because Sasha is the first openly transgender singer in the NBC contest show that made it through The Battle Rounds in the entire 21 seasons of the show. The Newtown, Conn. duo are now part of the top 8 of the contest! Sasha declared that he's transgender as part of their Blind Auditions package. He stated to Parade.com it took some thought in making that choice. Sasha stated that it was a struggle to make a decision because he was required to show a very sensitive side of himself the presence of millions. It was when at the age of high school. Support from the audience and the effect that it affected people even though the decision was a difficult one and was the main reason that was the main factor that convinced Sasha to make the change worthwhile. The Voice wasn't even around when we played this song. It was a great surprise. The track was something we knew and we had thoughts of how to set it up.
